The First Day
Today was my first day at Microsoft and it got off to a good start when I found out that they had conveniently spelt my name wrong in my login name and email address. Not to be outdone on my first day, the people in IT also decided to make my password expire before I’d started work. After a few phone calls, that was fixed but I decided to keep my username for giggles
I spent most of the day installing and configuring my overheating laptop (!) and learning way too much about how the data centre operates. I also received 14 emails and am waiting for my first spam email.
For those of you who are wondering what exactly my job entails, join the club! My official title is “MTC Engineer” which means that I take care of the Microsoft Technology Centre data centre and room where they demonstrate to clients.
Oh yeah, and they also have an awesome canteen with great food.
I loves it!
